hi,
i have the cowon q5w 80GB but when i connect it to my computer and want to see how much space i got left , it says that it has 74GB instead of 80GB. and i cannt use the full space of my device...
anyone knows why it shows me 74 instead of 80?

80GB is unformatted disc capacity. Whenever you format disc, you'll lose some space. That's quite common. I can use 37.2GB out of 40 on my Q5W.
I think that if you sum your computer's hard disc space, you'll find it a bit less than it should be too.

We lose about 7% of space. Here's a calculation for my and your HDDs:
